He runs three different firms that he describes as the largest government affairs and consulting organizations that aren’t affiliated with a law firm or corporation. Van Scoyoc has more than 260 clients and took in more than $19 million during the first nine months of 2011 at Van Scoyoc Associates & Capitol Decisions, Inc.; the previous year Van Scoyoc Associates brought in nearly $29 million. Its client roster is large and diverse, including IBM, DuPont (whose government affairs office Van Scoyoc once headed), and FedEx, as well as a wide spectrum of colleges and universities, hospitals, and local governments. He employs a vast array of experienced hands, including M. Jeff Hamond and James M. Crum.
