Before becoming a lobbyist, McIntyre was press secretary to Rep. Robert Stevenson, R-La., and chief speechwriter for Vice President George H.W. Bush. McIntyre now serves as senior vice president at Russ Reid, one of the most prominent groups that lobbies on behalf of Christian organizations .The firm also does a substantial amount of work for hospitals, as well as colleges and universities; it has more than 70 clients and brought in more than $1.8 million in the first nine months of 2011, with money coming from such entities as Salt Lake County; Oklahoma’s Bacone College, which is affiliated with the American Baptist Church; and Montana’s Kalispell Regional Medical Center.
